Films for the Forest: SXSW Film Festival Community Screening
SXSW 2016 also features Rainforest Partnership’s seventh annual Films for the Forest (F3) international short film challenge and event. Join us on Sunday March 13, from 3:30PM - 7PM for a SXSW Film Festival Community Screenings event, all in the name of saving rainforests! The new Rainforest Listening short film featuring our Amazon soundscapes will launch during Films for the Forest amongst an incredible program of films and activities.
Bring the whole family and take part in the fun with food, drinks, and activities for all ages. Kids and adults alike will love the Edge of Imagination Station, where they can make their own stop motion film. Choose a t-shirt or tea towel and design, and watch as the men of Fine Southern Gentlemen screen-print your wearable art before your eyes. And finally get crafty with the ladies of Craft and make your own take home event souvenir.
Say cheese while Marissa JB Photography snaps your photo in our one of a kind F3 photo booth. You won't want to miss the Flash Tat bar, and the chance to purchase our Rainforest Partnership inspired Illia pack. And be ready to shop till you drop for a good cause at our RP pop-up shop where you can find our Pura Vida bracelets, Beach Road Design Beach sheets, Greenlee Swim Bikinis, and our rainforest tunics.
Belly up to the bar for RP’s own flavor of Holy Kombucha, and grab a green drink from JuiceLand for your favorite mocktail. Or mix it up with Tito’s Vodka for a rainforest spritzer, plus it isn't an RP event without our favorite Lagunitas brew. Keep the party going all night long with sips from Chameleon Cold-Brew. And what says evening at the theater more than popcorn from Skinny Pop and sweet treats courtesy of Tiny Pies. Finish it all with all natural frozen popsicles from our friends at GoodPops.
You'll step into an old Hollywood style theater in the middle of the rainforest courtesy of Repeat Roses. Don't miss this year's film screening at The Marchesa Hall & Theater on March 13th from 3:30-5:30 p.m, enjoy our Old Hollywood theme food and drinks, and leave with a bit more knowledge about the rainforest and a lot more inspiration to do your part to protect it.
This entertaining event wouldn't be possible without the support of our sponsors: Ameriprise Financial - Joel Kenty, Austin Chronicle, CultureMap Austin, Detour Filmproduction - Rick Linklater, Do512, Jasiel + Ronan Spelman, Laura and Steve Beuerlein and Family, Nikelle Meade + Jerry Harris, MWM Design Group, and SXSW.
Visit our online 'box office' and reserve your ticket (free and no badge needed) or get involved with our award winning sponsorship opportunities. Don’t miss your chance to channel your inner Roger Ebert as you vote for the audience choice winner, and enter to win a Rainforest Partnership prize pack.
